From infant to teen, our youth are important members of our St. Andrew’s family. We have several ways of meeting their interests and needs so that they feel included as part of our larger faith community.
NURSERY – infant care (up to the age of 5 years ) is available during the church service.
CHURCH SCHOOL – older children (ages 6 and onward) join in the beginning our community worship time and then share Church School together. Our principal resource for children’s programming is the One Room Sunday School Curriculum supplemented with other resources.
Our older youth often meet informally to share ideas, questions and concerns that are of interest to them. On occasion they might assist with the younger ones.
There are two “kid-friendly” spaces (with crayons, paper and toys) located in the Chapel and at the back of sanctuary for children who choose to stay in worship with their parents rather than go downstairs for Church School / Nursery.
We sometimes have inter-generational services where the songs, sermon, and readings are geared to young and old alike. Special times such as Camp Sunday and Christmas Pageant Sunday are designed to make worship a meaningful experience for all ages.
Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Matthew 19: 13-14
