St. Andrew’s is an Affirming Congregation

St. Andrew’s United Church in North Bay now officially offers an open and public welcome to gays, lesbians, bisexual and trans-gendered people. The 129-year-old downtown congregation recently voted by a large majority to become an Affirming Congregation of the United Church of Canada. It joins over 200 other congregations in the denomination with that designation.

 St. Andrew’s Marriage Policy

We believe that God blesses us with a variety of loving relationships and that the marriage relationship is a covenant two people make with one another before God and their community.

We believe that the marriage service is an act of worship in which two people give themselves to one another in the full intention of a life-long commitment.

We believe that all people are eligible for marriage regardless of ability, race, social status, creed, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.
