Just a friendly reminder that worship at St. Andrew’s is open - and we welcome our friends from Trinity for the month of August and Sept. 3rd.

The worship theme for August is ‘Voices of Canada’ and the first message in the theme is ‘Struggle & Blessing’.

Sunday, August 27th:

"When we sit in peace and watch the miracle of the land, we become aware of the miracle of the universe. When we become aware of the miracle of the universe, we become aware of the miracle of Creation. When we become aware of the miracle of Creation, we become aware of the miracle of ourselves. The truths we seek are imprinted in us, just as the land, the universe and the Creation are imprinted in us. They always were." These powerful words from the late Richard Wagamese speak to our hearts as we gather for worship on August 27th for the 4th in our series, "Voices of Canada." Today, we honour our connections with each other and with all living things. Our guest speaker for the day is our own Trisha Mills. Her wonderful photographs accompany her reflections along with the writings from Richard Wagamese's last book, "Embers." Come join us for worship this coming Sunday at 10:30 a.m.

Upcoming Event:

  • United Church Golf Challenge, Thursday, August 31st

Do you have an 'E-mail' address?

Due to the increases in postal rates, we would like to email Advent/Christmas newsletters, or other important correspondence, whenever possible, to help cut church expenses. Please take a minute to email the church at:
standrewschurch@cogeco.net so we can set up a congregational email list.
Your co-operation is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

St. Andrew's Becomes “Affirming.”

" St. Andrew’s United Church in North Bay now officially offers an open and public welcome to gays, lesbians, bisexual and transgendered people. The 129-year-old downtown congregation recently voted by a large majority to become an Affirming Congregation of the United Church of Canada. It joins over 80 other congregations in the denomination with that designation." To read the rest of the press release to local media
(dated April 17th, 2013) click on the Affirm United symbol to the right.

St. Andrew's has a commemorative leaf on the North Bay waterfront Pergola. Click *here* to read the story that honours
